AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG is an agricultural trading company specializing in produce, animal feed, plant cultivation and technology. With 400 locations and 6,500 employees, the company operates in over 100 countries worldwide.
AGRAVIS required better speed, scalability, and query options. They needed to bring data together from a wide range of sources, and maintenance costs were too high. The teams couldn’t work with virtual views, making development cycles longer, and even small adjustments were time-consuming — on the old system, drawing up and filling in columns in a spreadsheet would take several hours. The team ran a four-week proof of concept, culminating in a trial migration of the data warehouse.
The data from three ERP systems, a CRM, and online shops is collected and stored in a central Group data warehouse. The Data Analytics team provides centralized data supply, and users compile reports using SAP BusinessObjects.
“We can respond more quickly and with a more granular approach. It used to take us a lot more time to supply the required information to the departments.”Maximilian Holl, Manager Data Analytics
Query response time 14x faster
Team moved from an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) to ELT approach (Extract, Load, Transform), storing raw data in the database and using virtual views — saving storage space and making data more accessible
Shortened loading cycles. Departments receive data in real time for up-to-date reports
