2. Transfer of data to third parties
2.1 Google Analytics
On the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. our interest to analyse and optimize the use of this service according to Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR) this website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. In case of activation of the IP anonymization, Google will anonymize the last octet of the IP address for Member States of the European Union as well as for other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases, the full IP address is sent to and shortened by Google servers in the USA. On behalf of Exasol Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website provider. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.
Please note that on this website Google Analytics code has been supplemented by “gat._anonymizeIp();” to ensure the anonymized collection of IP addresses.
You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.
Furthermore you can prevent Google’s collection and use of data (cookies and IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en
Google is certified in accordance with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and is therefore committed to complying with appropriate data protection standards, see also https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/list.
Further information concerning data privacy can be found at https://www.google.de/intl/en/policies/
2.2 Google Maps
On the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. our interest to analyse and optimize the use of this service according to Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR) this website uses Google Maps API, a map service provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google) to present an interactive map. Through the use of Google Maps, information concerning your use of the website (including your IP address) may be transferred to and stored on a Google server in the USA. Google may pass this information on to third parties providing the law permits it or insofar as third parties process this data on behalf of Google.
Under no circumstances will Google connect your IP address with other Google data. Despite this, it is still technically possible for Google to identify at least some individual users based on the data received. It is also possible that personal data and the personal profiles of users are used by Google for other purposes, over which we do not and cannot have any control. This, coupled with the fact that data is transmitted to the USA, is problematic for data protection reasons.
You have the option of simply deactivating Google Maps to prevent this data transfer to Google: deactivate JavaScript in your browser. However, we wish to point out that in this case, the map will not be displayed.
By using this website and not deactivating JavaScript, you expressly declare your understanding and awareness of the data protection problem concerning the processing of your data by Google as described above for the aforementioned purposes.
2.3 Google AdWords Conversion Tracking
On the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. our interest to analyse and optimize the use of this service according to Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR) this website uses the online advertising program Google AdWords which includes a conversion-tracking functionality. The conversion tracking cookie is set when a user clicks on an ad delivered by Google. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of this website while the cookie has not yet expired, then Google and Exasol can detect that the user has clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer gets a different cookie. Therefore, cookies cannot be tracked throughout the websites of AdWords customers.
The information obtained from the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who decided to use conversion tracking. Customers are informed about the total number of users who have clicked on their ad and have been redirected to a page which included the conversion tracking tag. However, they will not receive any information that can identify users personally. Users who do not want to take part in the tracking process can easily disable the Google conversion tracking cookie using their Internet browser’s user settings. These users will not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. Google’s privacy policy for conversion tracking can be found here.
2.4 Google AdWords Remarketing / Google Tag Manager
On the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. our interest to analyse and optimize the use of this service according to Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR) this website uses Google Remarketing and the Google Tag Manager. This is a service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google uses so-called “Cookies”, which are text files stored on your computer, to help analyze how you interact with the website. The information about your use of this website (including your IP address), which generated by the cookie, will be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will then delete the last three digits of the IP address so that a clear IP allocation is no longer possible. Google adheres to the data protection provisions of the “US Safe Harbor” agreement and is registered with the “Safe Harbor” program at the US Department of Commerce.
Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity for website operators and provide other website and internet related services. Google may also transfer this information to third parties provided that it’s required by the law or to third parties who process the information on Google’s behalf.
Third-party providers, including Google, display ads on websites on the Internet. Third-party providers, including Google, use stored cookies to show ads based on previous visits of a user of this website.
Google will not associate or connect your IP address with any other data held by Google Inc. The data collection and storage can be revoked at any time with a future effect. You can deactivate the use of cookies by Google, by visiting the page for disabling Google advertising. Alternatively, users can disable the use of cookies by third parties by visiting the deactivation page of the Network Advertising Initiative.
By using this site, you agree to the processing of your data by Google in the manner described above and for the aforementioned purpose. The data collection and storage can be revoked at any time with a future effect. More information about Google’s policy.

In addition, we use “floodlight cookies” to measure whether you perform certain actions on our website after you were shown one of our advertisements or clicked on it (so-called conversion tracking).

This data is collected and analysed exclusively on a pseudonymous basis, so that it is not possible to trace your identity.
Further information on data protection and Google’s terms of use can be found here.

Google Optimize uses cookies for this purpose. The information generated by these cookies about your use of our website is typically transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. We use Google Optimize with IP anonymisation activated so that your IP address is shortened by Google. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
