Nuremberg, Germany – 18 April 2023Exasol, the high-performance analytics database provider, has released the findings of the commissioned Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) Study conducted by Forrester Consulting. The study reveals that a composite Exasol customer achieved a 320% ROI on the initial investment over three years, demonstrating the significant economic value provided by Exasol’s analytics database.

To construct the study, Forrester conducted in-depth interviews with Exasol customers, identifying the benefits, risks and outcomes they experienced while deploying the Exasol analytics database. The study provides a model for determining economic value for any organisation considering deploying Exasol.

Key findings of the TEI Study on Exasol analytics database

Prior to using Exasol, the interviewees noted how their organisation struggled with slow data processing, high costs, and performance issues with legacy database solutions.

The highlights of the study include:

  • Exasol pays for itself more than three times in the span of three years (320% ROI)
  • Up to 80% improved database performance resulting in savings worth more than $1.29 million.
  • More than $1.71 million in cost savings from improved operational efficiency
  • Over $1.7 million reduced infrastructure and integration costs

In addition to the quantitative findings, the study highlights the benefits of Exasol’s flexible deployment option (on-premises, across multiple clouds, or in a hybrid environment), predictable, consumption-based pricing, greater agility and faster time-to-market through application and service acceleration, a native support for the execution of data science and machine learning, and an increased ability to meet compliance regulations.

A head of business intelligence and analytics at a financial service company that was part of the Forrester TEI study shared the key insights the organisation experienced by using Exasol: “In less than a year, we have more than doubled our business intelligence operations, and it works perfectly, no performance issues, faster response times, all thanks to Exasol.”

“We are very proud to receive this kind of feedback from our customers. We believe Forrester’s findings truly highlight the benefits they get from deploying the Exasol analytics database. With us, they are in a unique position to solve critical challenges and get clear advantages for their business,” says Jörg Tewes, CEO at Exasol.
