Exasol continues to top the competition in its peer groups in BARC’s The Data Management Survey 23

Exasol achieves 12 top-rankings and 18 leader accreditations in the peer groups “Analytical Database Products” and “Exasol vs. Cloud Data Warehousing Products”

91% of Exasol users would recommend the data analytics platform to others

LONDON, UK – October 18, 2022 – Exasol, the high-performance Loading...analytics database, has again achieved outstanding results in The Data Management Survey 23, an annual survey conducted by BARC (Business Application Research Center). For the third consecutive year, Exasol dominates the competition in the Analytical Database Products peer group, achieving 6 top-rankings and 11 leader accreditations and scoring well above average. Based on the survey data and the evaluation that the majority of customers use Exasol in the cloud, BARC subsequently evaluated Exasol in a custom peer group. In “Exasol vs. Cloud Data Warehousing Products” the platform was awarded a further 6 top-rankings and 7 leader accreditations.

94% of respondents were highly satisfied with Exasol, rating its functionality as “excellent” or “good”, compared to 76% for the average data management tool. While 91% of end users surveyed would recommend Exasol “definitely” or “probably” to others, citing “convincing performance”, “scalability” and “good price performance ratio” as prominent reasons why they chose Exasol.

The survey features a range of different types of data management tools which are grouped into seven peer groups to allow for fair and useful comparisons. The Exasol database was evaluated in the “Analytical Database Products” peer group using 18 KPIs which are determined by BARC and was additionally ranked in the “Exasol vs. Cloud Data Warehousing Products” peer group following the assessment of end user endorsements. According to the report, Exasol is strongly rated compared to its rivals, achieving top rankings in the following categories:

  • Functionality
  • Technical Capability
  • Support Quality
  • Customer Experience

Exasol also received above-average ratings in the following KPIs: Price to Value, Time to Market, Product Satisfaction, Customer Satisfaction, Performance, Development Efficiency, Usability, Innovation, Connectivity, Adaptability and Recommendation.

The Data Management Survey 23 is based on the findings from BARC’s major survey of data management end users, conducted from January to April 2022. In total, 1,236 people responded to the survey giving feedback about their use of a named product. Altogether, 23 products (or groups of products) were analysed in detail.
