      This solution describes the process to create a "Remote Archive Volume". In other solutions the backups, which are stored on a remote volume, will be called as "Offline Backup".

      Backups with EXASOL can be either stored online in a so-called ARCHIVE Volume or on a remote location so-called Remote ARCHIVE Volume.
      All cluster members must be able to reach the remote target otherwise the connection state will be shown as "Connection problems".
      If DNS names should be used ensure the clusters has DNS servers configured.
      Corresponding subfolders will be created automatically: top level directory will be the database name
      Allowed users must not be Read-only users

      Different types of remote archives might be connected via:

      • FTP
      • SMB
      • S3
      • WebHDFS

      Possible volume options (depends on the connection type):

      • noverifypeer (do not check server certificate)
      • nocompression (write plain data)
      • forcessl (use STARTTLS in FTP connection)
      • webdav (use WebDAV for http-URL)
      • webhdfs (for WebHDFS URLs)
      • s3 (for servers providing S3 compatible API).
      • timeout=seconds (allows higher client/server response times)
