      Both mgmt nodes and data nodes have different disk layouts. It doesn't matter in which environment your cluster is running in, the basic disk layout stays the same. A General recommendation for all servers is to have dedicated disks for the operating system and EXAStorage (at least 1xOS and 1xStorage). The mgmt node is the only node with one single disk. All disk devices may be encrypted (AES-128, AES-256, HSM). For most security, we recommend using raid mirrors for all disk devices (on-premise).

      1st HDD

      • OS partition (d00_os)
        • EXACluster OS is installed on this partition
        • AES 256 encrypted
        • ext4 filesystem with journaling
        • Minimum size 50 GiB
      • Swap partition (d01_swap)
        • Swap partition
        • swapfs
        • 4GiB
      • Data partition (d02_data)
        • ext4 filesystem with journaling
        • Minimum size 50 GiB
        • Used for database logs and coredumps

      2nd+ HDD

      • Storage partition (d03_storage)
        • 1st EXAStorage partition
        • Can have one disk or multiple disks
        • Used for persistent and temporary database data

      Example: This example shows /dev/sda as dedicated disk for d00_os, d01_swap and d02_data. d03_storage has all the rest
