      EXAPlus first steps

      The EXAplus Window

The EXAplus window contains a toolbar and three areas:

      1. Information
        • Use the Database Browser to get information about the objects in your database instance.
        • In the History you find the previously executed statements of this EXAplus instance.
        • You can create Favorites for frequently needed statements and define your own shortcuts to execute these.
        • Use Templates if you are not sure about the precise syntax of a command.
      2. Editors
        • Several SQL Editor-tabs for your statements.
      3. Output
        • The progress of your EXAplus session is stored in the Log.
        • Additionally you find the Result sets of your queries here.

      Connections

      • EXAplus supports one database connection per EXAplus window.
      • You can create a Custom Connection to connect to a database instance spontaneously. You need the connection-string (e.g. 192.168.1.11..15:8563), a user name and the password.
      • Optionally you can organize your connections in Connection Profiles to make them easily accessible. In order to do so,  open the EXAplus menu.
