      Windows

There is a configuration tool for creating and maintaining ODBC data sources. Depended on the version of the driver (32bit and 64bit) there are also two variations of the tool. A shortcut to that tool can be found in the start menu entry of the EXASolution ODBC driver. If both variants are installed, then there exist two shortcuts to the 32bit and 64bit variant of that tool.

The path to that tool is either

      • %windir%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
        or
      • %windir%\System32\odbcad32.exe

After selection of a data source using the EXASolution driver either in the "User DSN" or "System DSN" and pressing the "Configure" button a new dialog opens. On the second tab there are two options concerning logging,
the "Log file" and "Log mode". (see screenshot)

Since the log file can grow very fast, we recommend to switch on this option only to analyze problems.

      Unix

In the odbc.ini file choose a DSN entry, or choose a driver from the file odbcinst.ini. In both cases a connection string is used to define further options.

The options are set using several key-value pairs separated by a semicolon.

      Supported keys concerning logging:

      • EXALOGFILE, Log file for the driver
      • LOGMODE, specifies the mode for the log file

      The following values are possible:

      • DEFAULT, Logs the most important function calls and SQL commands
      • VERBOSE, Logs additional data about internal process steps and result data
      • ON ERROR ONLY, Only in case of an error the log data is written
      • DEBUGCOMM, Extended logs for analyzing the client/server communication (similar to VERBOSE, but without the data and parameter tables).
      • NONE, No log data is written
      Show
