Increasingly, businesses are turning to data to help predict industry trends, drive growth and make better business decisions. EXASOL is designed and built to provide data-driven companies with the required analytical strength. Performance, efficiency and ease of use are key to help customers make quicker and more sound business decisions. By selecting EXASOL, customers are able to improve business operations, accelerate customer acquisition rates and strengthen customer relationships.
Extending its claim as the fastest in-memory database in the world, EXASOL broke even more records for the Transaction Processing Performance Council’s Industry standard TPC-H benchmark. EXASOL now leads in all categories from 100GB to 100TB data sizes. EXASOL is the only database company to ever benchmark an in-memory system at 100TB, delivering not only a 140 times performance increase but also a massive average 66 percent cost savings on a cost per performance basis over the nearest competitor. These results demonstrate EXASOL’s speed, scalability and cost/performance, which have consistently dominated the TPC-H benchmarks since 2008.
The latest release of EXASolution Version 5 in June of 2014 provided even better performance and a completely new in-database analytic tool called Skyline to enable "Preference Analytics." Preference Analytics help remove subjective elements from the analysis process, giving businesses greater confidence in query findings, predictive analytics and enabling better, more agile decision-making.
Additionally, the company announced the availability of the EXASolution Community Edition, a free to download version of the most powerful engine for analytics and data warehousing.
Key Senior Management Appointment
With the belief of hiring people whose passion drives the success of its company, EXASOL announced this month the hire of new Chief Marketing Officer, Sean Jackson. Sean brings a wealth of industry experience to EXASOL after most recently serving as marketing director of EMEA at Actian and also, previously, marketing director at Kognitio. Sean will focus on the company’s marketing strategy to help grow EXASOL to a truly global player in analytics and data management.
“EXASOL proved not only analytical strength but market relevance last year through key customer wins and significant growth. In 2015, EXASOL will continue to evolve by working closely with its customers and becoming one of the leading companies for in-memory database technology,” said Aaron Auld, CEO, EXASOL.
About the TPC-H benchmarks
The TPC-H benchmark is a performance test of the TPC, a non-profit corporation founded to define database benchmarks and to disseminate objective, verifiable performance data to the industry. The TPC-H benchmark is a decision support benchmark; it consists of a suite of business oriented ad-hoc queries and concurrent data modifications. The queries and the data populating the database have been chosen to have broad industry-wide relevance. This benchmark illustrates decision support systems that examine large volumes of data, execute queries with a high degree of complexity, and give answers to critical business questions.
EXASOL is passionate about helping companies to run their businesses smarter and drive profit by analyzing data and information at unprecedented speeds.
