EXASolution integrated into CCV’s data warehouse

CCV is implementing EXASOL AG’s database solution to improve the performance of key process analyses and prepare itself for large quantities of data in the long term.

Nuremberg, 24th of July 2013 – With CCV, the European payment institution with Dutch roots, and leading solutions provider in the field of electronic transactions, another company from the finance industry is placing its trust in the data warehouse solutionsoffered by Nuremberg-based EXASOL AG. The EXASolution in-memory database was implemented for the international experts in electronic payment solutions in June 2013. CCV primarily uses the software solution to combine and analyze data from the enterprise resource planning (ERP) and machine data from terminal management systems. This enables enhanced control over a number of processes in addition to detailed performance-tracking for customer installations.

CCV mainly chose the database management system from Nuremberg because of its favorable price/performance ratio. “We were particularly impressed with the speed of EXASOL AG’s software solution,” tells John Kolthof, Business Unit Director Commerce at CCV. “Compared to our current production database, EXASolution offers considerably higher query speeds. We can now, for instance, complete a query that took seven minutes with the old system in just one and a half minutes.” By implementing the new software, CCV also introduced wide-ranging services which could previously only be made available to a limited extent. No longer being connected to a static ETL tool or using standard interfaces such as ODBC and JDBC with a standard SQL syntax were also crucial factors in their decision. With regard to long-term usage and the compilation of large quantities of data over longer periods, the effortless and high scalability also spoke in EXASolution’s favor.

“With CCV, we have successfully won our third customer from the finance and insurance industry within just a short time. This is an extremely pleasing development, particularly in such a fiercely competitive industry,” says Aaron Auld, a member of the Management Board at EXASOL AG. “Our EXASolution database management system reduces time investments to a minimum – for both real-time analyses and administration and maintenance of the data warehouse.” With over 200,000 customers, CCV is one of the leading companies in the electronic transaction industry with businesses in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
