Managing Board:

Steffen Weissbarth Chairman of the Managing Board and CEO EXASOL AG

Steffen Weissbarth has been the Chairman of the Managing Board and CEO of EXASOL AG since 2010. The sales and marketing expert is responsible for sales and marketing as well as Research & Development and Professional Services at the company.

Steffen Weissbarth has more than 13 years of sales and marketing experience in international senior executive management. Before joining EXASOL, he was a Managing Partner at Axcentro AG following a stint as the head of Sales, Marketing & Services for the entire Dynamics business at Microsoft Switzerland. Steffen Weissbarth began his career in 1996 at Cognos Germany, where he worked for more than ten years – in his last post there as European Director Global Field Operations for the EMEA region. As part of his work in that position, he introduced the global sales methodology and sales and marketing solutions for more than 500 employees.

Weissbarth also has expertise in change management, in leading high-performance teams and in formulating and rolling out coaching concepts in sales. Weissbarth studied industrial engineering at Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences and the University of Stuttgart.

Aaron Auld Member of the Managing Board and COO EXASOL AG

Aaron Auld is the Chief Operations Officer. He studied law in Munich, Germany and has 15 years of experience in various technology companies and law firms.

Auld began his career in 1996 at MAN Technologie AG where he worked on large industry projects and M&A transactions in the aerospace sector. He left MAN to work in corporate law at the law firm Eckner-Bähr & Colleagues, subsequently moving to Océ Printing Systems GmbH as Legal Counsel for sales, software, R&D and IT. During this time Auld obtained his Masters degree (with distinction) in European and International Business Law at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland and was subsequently appointed Corporate Counsel for the worldwide software business at Océ Holding Germany. Before moving to EXASOL in 2006 he managed two M&A deals in Germany and Spain for primion Technology while coordinating primion’s successful IPO in Frankfurt (Prime Standard) in early 2006. He later fronted the company’s new Investor Relations department and was involved in restructuring the new acquisitions. At EXASOL, Auld began as Director Legal & Human Resources and assumed responsibility for general business operations in 2008.

Jochen Tschunke Chairman of the supervisory board EXASOL AG

Jochen Tschunke was in 1983 the co-founded of Computer 2000 AG. As CEO and later on as chairman of the board of directors he developed the company to one of the leading IT distributors worldwide with revenues of some billion EUROS. In 1988 Computer 2000 AG went public, and after some years as listed company Jochen sold it to the US based TechData Corporation.

Since 1995 Jochen acts as business Angel and private investor. He has numerous shareholdings in start-up and tech companies. If requested he brings in his enormous contact network helping entrepreneurs to develop the company further.


Richard Seibt Member of the supervisory board EXASOL AG

The business consultant Richard Seibt was Managing Director of IBM Germany with responsibility for sales and marketing of IBM’s software products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He was later appointed Vice President for North America.

Seibt was then a board member of United Internet AG for five years before becoming CEO of SUSE LINUX AG.

After it was acquired by Novell, he was appointed Novell’s President for EMEA.

Richard Seibt has been Chairman of the open source conference “Open Source Meets Business” of the publishing house Heise Verlag since August 2005 and, since 2006, CEO of the Linux Business Campus Nürnberg e.V. (LBCN).

Thanks to his many years as an executive and a member of Supervisory Boards, he has a vast wealth of experience in leading and strategically aligning internationally operating software companies.


Dr. Knud Klingler Member of the supervisory board EXASOL AG

Dr. Klingler has been the main investor in EXASOL since 2002 and has backed the company financially and in an advisory capacity with his equity investment company Syntos GmbH.

Dr. Klingler has excellent contacts in Austria, Canada and the U.S thanks to his many years of work, among other things at Schukra AG, which he founded and steered to success.

By assuming this new function with a seat on the Supervisory Board, Dr. Klingler as the main shareholder is making the clear commitment that he will continue to assist the company as an investor and advisor.
