EXASolution 2.1 and Fujitsu Siemens Computers Win the TPC™-H Benchmark in the 1000 GB Segment

EXASolution 2.1 and Fujitsu Siemens Computers have demonstrated their technological lead on the data warehouse market delivering a performance of  1,018,322 Composite Queries per Hour (QphH) in the 1000 GB segment of the TPC-H benchmark.

With the new version of its innovative database system EXASolution 2.1 and PRIMERGY RX300 S4 servers from Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the partners succeeded in surpassing the reference value that had been established in the 1 TB category in December 2007. The performance of EXASolution 2.1 was at least 15 times better than that of the conventional solutions from major database vendors.

EXASolution achieved top marks not only for its outstanding performance, but also for its price/performance ratio. It debunks the conventional maxim that “more power means higher costs.” EXASolution runs on a cluster of standard servers and raises the performance bar with far less hardware.

The TPC-H Benchmark
The TPC Benchmark™H (TPC-H) is a performance test of the independent Transaction Processing Performance Council (TPC) for data warehouse solutions that is recognized worldwide. Members are leading international database providers and hardware manufacturers. The benchmark simulates data warehouse analyses requiring considerable processing power and measures both the speed and capacity of database solutions. It is based on a number of typical business-process-oriented ad-hoc queries, as well as simultaneous data changes.
