EXASOL und TARGIT combine forces for innovative business intelligence applications

Big data made easily accessible

Nuremberg, 14 June 2012 A new collaboration between EXASOL and TARGIT, a leading software company that offers innovative business intelligence solutions, makes Big Data accessible and clear.

TARGIT will leverage EXASOL’s capabilities of in-database analytics of huge databases, and then add its business intelligence tool, TARGIT BI Suite, which is known for its ease-of-use and ability to provide human-computer synergy. By joining forces with EXASOL, TARGIT will reach a customer base that is making decisions on huge data sets.

TARGIT CTO, Dr. Morten Middelfart, is happy with the collaboration. “Data that is outside the scope of traditional systems has been a focus for TARGIT since our inception. Big data is flowing faster than ever

The term Big data is used to describe data that exists in such large amounts that it becomes difficult to handle in the traditional approach of data warehousing or any other type of database. Typically, Big data has to do with big servers running in parallel, not just one machine running the monumental amount of data alone. The velocity attribute of Big data, known as Fast data, is data that requires your attention right away when something changes or emerges. TARGIT’s ability to run real-time analytics is a prerequisite prior to even dealing with Fast data. “What really makes TARGIT extremely strong with regards to Fast data is that we have all these abilities for the individual users to set up agents – meaning that Fast data will not only be hitting the system fast, but it will also notify the user fast.
