System and database administration

Administration tasks regarding of EXASolution can be divided in two separate groups: system adminstration and database administration. These tasks are separated not only logically but also physically. A service provider can administrate an EXASolution cluster without necessarily having access to data.

EXAoperation
EXAoperation is an administration tool for EXASolution and will be used for initialization, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of servers and for management of EXASolution instances, which are running on these servers.
Right management
The security of and access to the database can be controlled using the Data Control Language (DCL). Through the management of users and roles as well as the granting of privileges, it can be determined (fine-grained) who is permitted to perform what actions in the database.
Auditing
Due to a number of legal requirements, you need sometimes to log the database access, to be able to detect a data misuse.
