Concepts

EXASolution is a relational database management system, which was developed especially for optimal support of business intelligence processes.

Due to focusing on the analytical workload, EXASolution unique architecture can match challenges of modern data warehousing better then universal RDBMS.

Thus EXASolution was developed "from scratch", all the concepts including transaction or ressourcen-management are concerted and provide the optimal support for data warehousing workload. In practice, these concepts contribute to the significant decrease of the running costs: EXASolution handles most of traditionally time-consuming tasks such as index creation and maintenance by itself.

The EXASolution system is a high performance cluster solution. More than 20 years of research and highly specialized distributed algorithms ensure performance and scalablitiy of the DBMS. Due to redundant data storage the database stays available even if some cluster nodes fail.
