Information on data protection

We at EXASOL AG take the protection of your personal data very seriously and comply with the provisions of the data protection laws. Some of the data collected when you visit this website is used for statistical analysis. The extent of the data is described in the following. The data is only forwarded to our statistics service provider Webtrekk GmbH.
EXASOL AG uses Webtrekk GmbH's services to gather statistical data on the use of our website and to optimise our range of services. Webtrekk GmbH is certified by TÜV Saarland for data protection in the field of web controlling software. An audit at Webtrekk in Berlin and at the hosting location is included as part of the certification. During the audit, the collection and processing of tracking data is checked for compliance with the data privacy laws and data security.
This certification has been based on:
- catalogue of data privacy requirements - V1.3,

During your visit to our website, your browser transmits data which is collected for our internal analysis. Data collection occurs via a pixel method which is built into all the pages of our website. The following data is collected:
- request (file name of the requested file)
- type of web browser/browser version (e.g.: Internet Explorer 6.0)
- browser language (e.g.: German)
- operating system (e.g.: Windows XP)
- browser resolution
- screen resolution
- JavaScript enabled
- Java on / off
- cookies on / off
- colour depth
- referrer URL (previously visited page)
- IP address –which is immediately anonymised and deleted after processing
- timestamp
- clicks
- order value (if applicable)
- form content (free text fields such as name and password are tracked as "completed" or "empty")
2.1 IP address
The IP address is tracked with every server request so the server knows where the reply must be sent. Everybody receives the IP address of an Internet service provider (ISP) as soon as they connect to the Internet and the ISP can see which IP address was assigned to its customer and when. Provided that the IP address is saved, the user's identity can theoretically be determined from the route of the ISP. Along with our statistics service provider, we save the IP address only in a shortened (anonymised) form and use it only for session recognition, geolocalisation (to city level) and to defend against attacks. The IP address is then immediately deleted so that the data collected remains anonymous and the user's identity can no longer be determined, even from the ISP's route.
