Gerhard Rumpff is a 25-year veteran of the IT industry. Prior taking over the helm at EXASOL in 2008, Rumpff worked from 2005 to 2007 as Chief Executive  Officer (CEO) of asknet. asknet AG is one of the two leading providers of outsourcing solutions for global software distribution via the Internet.

Before asknet previous roles include:

Enterprise Director at Microsoft Australia where he successfully transformed the Enterprise Group into a solutions sales organisation. Mr. Rumpff switched the organisational structure to a vertical industry focus and proceeded to surpass sales and profit targets.

Managing Director at Webmethods, Australia/New Zealand. Webmethods is a leading provider of B2B and business systems integration. He helped to establish Webmethods in Asia Pacific and took over the Australia/New Zealand operations.

Managing Director Australia/New Zealand at 3COM, a leading vendor of communications equipment. He defined and implemented a new go-to-market model for the merged organizations at 3COM.

General Manager, Software & Networking, Australia/New Zealand at IBM from 1991 until 1998. He was responsible for the software, networking and cross-industry business including IBM’s call center solutions.

Managing Director Lotus Australia/New Zealand and Lotus Central Europe/Eastern Europe. He developed a new business strategy and re-aligned the sales and marketing organizations with the new strategy. He also rebuilt Lotus’ image in the marketplace and strengthened the relationship with customers and partners.
